MIRA STELLA SHOWCASED AT CONNOLLY

I remember visiting artist and designer Sophie Bouilhet-Dumas' garden in Normandy over twelve years ago, a slightly overgrown, inherited garden, and how excited she was describing her intentions to take it back to ancient plants and local flora, working with master botanist Mark Brown. At that time, it was a beautiful horticultural dream which has now become a beautiful creative project far beyond the confines of her garden walls. Her sensitivity and innate respect and love of nature has found its perfect pollinator… in the jewellery of Mira Stella.

Sophie’s work ‘highlights the intersection of fine jewellery and organic forms, preserving the beauty of nature in pieces meant to be cherished across the generations.'

Mira Stella, founded by the artist Sophie Bouilhet-Dumas, a member of the Christofle silversmith family, takes inspiration from her natural garden in Normandy. Her designs replicate the natural forms of seeds, petals, and bark found and grown in her garden and each piece is crafted in Paris using the lost-wax casting technique and made from 18-carat rose gold. The jewellery collections include Sea Kale Seed, Teller Blue Hydrangea Petal, Flax Pod, Oak Bark, and Garden Orache, each highlighting and honouring the organic forms and the intricate details of plant structures. The gold used in production is either certified, recycled, or “grandfathered” (refined before 2012) to ensure responsible sourcing. The owl serves as Mira Stella’s symbol, representing observation, precision, and appreciation for detail—qualities reflected in the craftsmanship of each piece.

In 2022 Sophie opened a small boutique in Saint Germain Des Pres to present her jewellery in a setting that reflects its natural influences and her commitment to craftsmanship.

I am so delighted to welcome my friend Sophie and her beautiful jewellery collection to Connolly for a very special and intimate trunk show from the 26th March until the 2nd April. The Mira Stella collection will be on sale during this week directly and exclusively from our upstairs gallery at Clifford Street, where Sophie will be available to explain the ethos of the pieces and the inspiration behind her designs… and maybe you will leave wearing or gifting a small piece of her magical ancient world of nature.
